Welcome

The University of Livingstonia is a private owned institution by the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia. The institution was founded at a site that initially was founded by Dr Robert Laws in honour of Dr David Livingstone who fought gallantly in opening up Central Africa to Christian values and morals. During his fifty-two years in Malawi, Dr Laws built a magnificent Overtoun Institution which was known at the time to be the Greatest Achievement in Central Africa specifically in relation to the offering of education and other social services. The place was characterized by such facilities as the church, schools, hospitals, houses, piped water and first grid electricity in Central Africa. The schools that were built catered for students from different parts of the country as well as other countries such as Zambia and Tanzania.
